Kevin Francis
Growing up in Austin, Texas Kevin developed an affinity for live music, tacos and a story well-told. That background somehow resulted in an ability to put complex telecom problems into plain language that non-technical executives can understand and profit from. Previously, Kevin learned the ins and outs of his field at leading companies such as MCI, GST and CRG West. It was at XO, however, where he first met Mike and developed a friendship which would lead to the origins of Silent Partner. When he’s not in his super secret laboratory cooking up strategy for his clients, he’s most likely enjoying a cold beer and watching live music or the Texas Longhorns. Hook ’em.
Mike Nguyen
An idea-man, Mike’s at the core of creating Silent Partner’s intellectual capital and has a knack for combining engineering insight with innovative business thinking. Mike hasn’t known any other job outside of Silent Partner since the dot-com crash and can’t imagine liking any other job more. He’s a northern California guy through-and-through but he’s spent enough time in Denver to be a Bronco’s fan. That’s not grease or oil in his hair, it is in fact, water soluble pomade.
Paul Baldwin
A veteran of ICG, Qwest, OnFiber and Time Warner Telecom, Paul brings a ton of experience to the Silent Partner sandbox. Often acting as a first touch-point with clients, he has an unusual talent for identifying client needs and quickly recommending a general plan of action. Outside of work you will find him working out, throwing the frisbee for his black lab, Murphy, or preparing his audition tape for Survivor.
Jennie Karnes
An MBA graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa Bay, Jennie Karnes joins Silent Partner after her most recent role as a channel development director at Switch and Data, implementing a sales channel distribution strategy focusing on colocation and peering products. After living in various locales around the world (she even knows how to walk like an Egyptian) she is in the process of relocating to “the other Bay Area” here in San Francisco. Ways to tempt her into divulging everything you ever wanted to know about start-ups, colocation or network peeringsushi and Red Bull. In that order.
